Dr. Whitney Duffy

PT, DPT, CSCS, CIDN, Certified Graston Practitioner

 

Whitney is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She earned her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. After graduation Whitney worked as a physical therapist at OrthoVirginia physical therapy in Fairfax, VA before moving to Charlotte, NC in July 2015. Whitney is certified in integrated dry needling and Graston technique. She is currently completing a manual therapy specialist certification as well her certification as a strength and conditioning specialist.  
Growing up, Whitney participated in many sports and athletic activities. An active lifestyle is still a part of her daily life. Her love for athletics led her to obtain a position at Charlotte Latin School in the athletic development program where she coaches students on proper training techniques and movement patterns. She is also involved in exercise program development and implementation to help students reach their full athletic potential safely.

Dr. Patrick Duffy

Dr. Patrick Duffy is a physical therapist and co-owner of Apex Athletix. He earned Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Virginia where he played football. He then went on to earn his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. 
Dr. Duffy has always had a passion for athletics. He grew up playing many sports before focusing on soccer and football in high school. He was an all-state soccer player and played defensive back on the football team at the University of Virginia. Since graduating from UVA, Patrick has been coaching football, strength & conditioning, and lacrosse at the middle school and high school levels. He is also a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a board certified physical therapist.  
Dr. Duffy is currently an assistant football coach at Sun Valley High School and has an extensive coaching background. In the past he served as head football coach, strength & conditioning coach, and assistant lacrosse coach at The Potomac School in Virginia, and assistant football, strength & conditioning, and lacrosse coach at Charlotte Latin School. Patrick has also worked as a performance coach at Velocity Sports Performance.
Duffy started coaching football at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia where he served as Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach from 2007-2008. He then served as Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator and QB/RB coach from 2009-2015. In 2010 Duffy took over as Head Football Coach at The Potomac School, bringing the team to 3 State Final appearances in 5 years. Dr. Duffy and his family moved to Charlotte, NC in 2015 and he accepted a position coaching at Charlotte Latin School. There he served as Co-Offensive Coordinator as well as Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs position coach for three seasons.  In 2018 Duffy began coaching at Sun Valley High School, serving as Defensive backs position coach and Special Teams Coordinator.
Outside of Apex and coaching, Dr. Duffy enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, exercising, and traveling. He stays active in a number of different ways including lifting, running, playing pick up soccer and climbing.
